Robert Holderness
Mr. Holderness is the sole-proprietor of the Holderness Law Firm located in Folsom and formed in 1980. He primarily practices law in the fields of real estate and land use. He practices law at the federal, state, and local level.
Mr. Holderness served with the Folsom city council from 1990-1998 and as mayor from 1992-1995. Mr. Holderness served as chairman of the Sacramento-Placerville Transportation Corridor Joint Powers Authority from 1993-1996. In addition, he served as chairman of the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District (1997-1998) during the launching of the District’s clean fuel incentive programs.
During his term as mayor, Mr. Holderness was instrumental in the approval and construction of the Lake Natoma Crossing bridge and restoration of passenger rail service to Folsom. He was also a key negotiator in the funding and construction of two new traffic lanes for State Route 50 from Rancho Cordova to El Dorado Hills.
Since 1998, Mr. Holderness has been a Board Director for the Folsom Economic Development Corporation. In addition, he served on the steering committee for the current Measure A, approved by Sacramento County voters in 2004. In 2016, Mr. Holderness was designated an ex-officio member of the ITOC by the Board Chair of the Sacramento Transportation Authority (STA), and in May 2018 was appointed as an alternate voting member by STA’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Holderness holds a law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Santa Clara.
