What We Do

Our mission is to provide Sacramento County’s 1.6 million residents with a broad array of transportation programs and services which benefit the community where they live, work, and play.

We are committed to connecting communities by ensuring that tax payer dollars are used purposefully now and into the future.

Funding

MEASURE A

STA’s primary function is to serve as the fiscal administrator of the Measure A program. Measure A funds impact projects which:

  • Repair local streets
  • Improve traffic safety
  • Expand public transit
  • Enhance local streets and roads
  • Promote walking and biking safety and access
  • Reduces traffic congestion
  • Protect the environment

All funds collected via Measure A must be spent within Sacramento County.

STATE

STA also programs the expenditure of Senate Bill 1 (SB 1) funding under the Local Partnership Formulaic Program and sets priorities for competitive applications under the Local Partnership Competitive Program within Sacramento County.

Programs

SACRAMENTO METROPOLITAN FREEWAY SERVICE PATROL (FSP)

The FSP program works to reduce traffic congestion caused by roadway incidents. STA administer FSP in cooperation with Caltrans and the California Highway Patrol in Sacramento and Yolo Counties.
