Welcome

We administer countywide programs to provide transportation funding, freeway safety, and abandon vehicle abatement.

The Sacramento Transportation Authority (STA) is an independent local government agency primarily responsible for administering the Measure A program: the half-percent sales tax for transportation improvements in Sacramento County.

The STA serves as the Sacramento Abandoned Vehicle Service Authority (SAVSA) which was created to combat the growing problem of abandoned vehicles on both private and public property.

The STA also administers the Sacramento Metropolitan Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) program in cooperation with Caltrans and the California Highway Patrol. The program's primary objective is to reduce the traffic congestion caused by roadway incidents.
